It's Derby Tiiiime!!!

As you all know by now, it's Derby week... ...And I'll be hosting my Derby Party on Saturday!!

The weather is supposed to be beautiful here this weekend, so I'm really excited about it all -- even though I have a to-do list a mile long that I need to finish before Saturday rolls around.

I've printed a list of the the post positions, so that we can all have fun placing little wagers on the ponies, along with a list of "My Old Kentucky Home" lyrics, so that those non-natives will feel right at home singing along!! (Haha, no pun intended there, I promise!)

I'm going to make Benedictine Dip -- some Baby Hot Browns --
with potato salad --
and baked beans as sides.
The real treat though will be the Derby Pie for dessert--

And most importantly, this delishious spread has to be served with a nice, refreshing MINT JULEP!!

A super-simple recipe can be found over at Bestie JB's blog. Be sure to look at her Derby updates, too!

Have any of ya'll hosted Derby parties before? What did you fix? I'll be sure to do a post on how it all turned out!

Until next time,

  1. Hi!!!! Just found your blog!! It's adorable and I can't wait to learn more about you!!! I hope you have an amazing time at your party and I can't wait to see some pictures and hear all about it. All of that food looks DELICIOUS!!! You may have to post a recipe for Derby pie...I've never had it!!

  2. Now I'm hungry! I have not hosted my own Derby day :)

  3. You made my mouth water with the pictures of the Hot Brown and Derby Pie! I wish I could hop a plane and come down for the party! I would come next year but you already PARTIALLY committed to going to the Derby with me next year! Your party will be fab because you are amazing and I love you! Take lots of pictures so we can all see how it went!
